Mateu T.
Brotherhood
Mateu is a Life Scout and Brotherhood Honor member of Great Sentinel Lodge. Before serving as Section Chief, Mateu served as Lodge Treasurer and youth lead for the Shinnecock team for the lodge merger. He looks forward to working alongside his other section officers to deliver outstanding program this year. Mateu is excited for SWFT at Alpine and Conclave 2027 at Camp Seton.
Section Vice Chief
Alexis L.
Brotherhood
Alexis is an Eagle Scout and Brotherhood Honor member of Kintecoying Lodge. She has previously served Kintecoying as Lodge Treasurer, Lodge Vice Chief of Administration and Lodge Chief. Alexis has served Greater New York Councils as the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader for the 2026 National Jamboree contingent, along with being the 2025 GNYC Venturer of the Year. She is ready to serve the lodges of the section fostering collaboration through the program offered by Section E18.
Section Secretary
Shyam D.
Brotherhood
Shyam is a Life Scout and Brotherhood Honor member of Great Sentinel Lodge (formerly of Shinnecock Lodge). He has served as the Lodge Vice Chief of Program and Vice Chapter Chief within Shinnecock Lodge. Shyam has completed and staffed National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and was part of the merger committee for the formation of Great Sentinel Lodge representing Shinnecock Lodge. He is excited to enhance communications within the section and work with our lodge this year.
Section Adviser
James Farrell
Vigil Honor
James is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor Member of Great Sentinel Lodge where he previously served as a Lodge Adviser of legacy lodge – Buckskin Lodge. He has served in many roles within his council and the former Northeast Region Area 2 having previously served as Area Advisor for Venturing and sat on the Area Committee. He currently serves Scouting America Long Island as a Council Member-at-Large and the Council National Camp Assessment Program (NCAP Chair). Within Council Service Territory 10, James serves as an NCAP Team Lead, conducting long-term camp assessments in Zone 10. During his tenure in Scouting he has received a James E. West Fellowship, Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit, and the Area Venturing Leadership Award. James has completed Wood Badge, and has staffed N2-404-19, T10-386-23, and 10-386-25; completed National Leadership Seminar (NLS), National Lodge Adviser Training Seminar, and Developing Youth Leadership Conference (DYLC) and staffed DYLC. He has served the youth of the Order of the Arrow at NOAC 2018, NOAC 2022, and NOAC 2024. From 2022-2026, James was the Associate Section Adviser for Section E18 (2022-2026).
